You can request revitalisation of frozen samples here. The sperm will be thawed in the TCF laboratory, and oocytes from donor mice will be fertilised in vitro. The resulting embryos will be transplanted into foster mothers in the animal facility.
For the IVF procedure, it is crucial to specify the source of the gametes. When selecting egg donor animals, choose a vendor that matches your usual genetic background. This is important because animals from vendors such as Janvier or Charles River—even if labeled as Bl/6J—represent distinct sublines.
- Please submit your revitalisation request as early as possible to secure a near-term appointment for IVF. You can book several weeks or months in advance.
- Donor material can also include live females or males from your own colony, or frozen samples from other facilities. Be as specific as possible when completing the request form.
- Incoming requests will be scheduled as soon as possible by the TCF, and you will receive an email with further questions or your IVF appointment date.
